ARTICLE IX.
Goods passing through the Colony under Customs
documents from one treaty port in China to another
shall maintain their original status and shall
receive the benefit of their original Customs
documents at the port of destination, subject to
the following conditions:-
(a) The Customs Authorities shall be given full
facilities for supervising goods in transit
without landing of transhipment during
such period as such goods remain within
the waters of the Col ny.
(b) Goods landed pending transmission by sea or
by railway and goods brought by railway for
transmission by sea shall be placed in
such bonded warehouses as may be agreed
upon between the Government of Hongkong and
the Customs Authorities. Full facilities
to supervise goods in such warehouses
shall be given to the Customs Authorities
and those Authorities may require goods
to be forwarded within a reasonable
specified time.
ARTICLE I.
For the better prevention of smuggling across
the land frontier of the Colony the Government of
Hongkong will select in consultation with the
Commissioner of the Chinese Maritime Customs certain
ports of entry for merchandise including livestock.
